Primary Mathematics Teaching for Mastery Work Groups – 2017/18 recruitment

In 2017-18, all Maths Hubs will be running up to eight primary mathematics Teaching for Mastery Work Groups. Each Work Group will be led by one of the Maths Hub’s Mastery Specialists and involve six or seven primary schools. During the year, they will work closely together to introduce and develop approaches to teaching for mastery.
Participating in the Work Group will provide the following benefits:

London North East Teacher of the Year Award
An amazing teacher makes all the difference at school. Here at the London North East Maths Hub, we know there are many fantastic maths teachers across all sectors. We are very excited to introduce ‘London North East Maths Hub’s Maths Teacher of the Year Award ‘. The award ceremony will take place in Queen Mary University.
We would like you to nominate one or two teachers from your institution who are dedicated and inspiring maths teachers. In the summer term, we will invite you to attend a special ceremony where Fiona Allan, Assistant Director of the NCETM and David Arrowsmith, Dean of Astrophysics at Queen Mary will be presenting the awards.
We are seeking nominations from schools and colleges in the following Local Authorities:
Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Hackney, Barking and Dagenham and Havering for these categories:

If you would like to run a mathematics workgroup in your school/college we would love to hear from you! Click on the link for your expression of interest.
We are looking for dynamic Work Group Leads for all sectors, but in particular, we would be delighted to hear from you if you are able to lead sessions on the new GCSE and A Level specifications.
