Planning for Mastery
This two day course unpicks what is meant by mastery in mathematics, drawing on research and evidence from higher performing jurisdictions around the world. It looks at the techniques these countries use to deliver their curricula, for example, spending longer on topics, step by step teaching and the variation theory. It will also explore how this can be planned alongside the England’s national curriculum.
Delegates will have the opportunity to explore how to plan for a mastery curriculum and take away yearly overviews from which to develop their medium term plans and lesson design if they feel that this would be beneficial.
Target audience: Primary Teachers and Coordinators of Maths
